Fair enough we had a couple of key figures out, but the team should be able to cope against such opposition. Not wanting to take the win away from the Ship lads because Christmas must have come a couple of months early for them. That first win is precious but we should be seeing off the teams at the lower end of the table if we are to be as good as we think we are.The Ship keeper was kept very busy all game and 4 breakaway chances lead to the defeat. The Ships unorthodox approach to 4-4-2 seemed to confuse us as it was more like a 5-0-5. When we were pushing hard we were left open to their classic 5-0-5 counter attacking pincer manouvre and we fell sucker to it 4 times!!! A defeat that will scar the memory and will be over-turned next time we meet. It was an odd day for The Excelsior, getting beat by The Ship is one thing, but Darren Worrall

Normaly i dont like to brag but after reading the wonderful report i would just like to add that it wasnt the 5-0-5 formation that confused your team it was the star quality that came from are very own striker (james parker) that tore you defence to shreds!! so you can blame your poor performance on missing key players all you want, we know what realy happend!!!! yours truly The Ship FC!! as one of the managers of the ship fc i would like to say;''bring it on Ecelsior'' for a team that has only just started out this season & never had any pre match friendlies & thrown into the thick of things I think we did our bit ensuring u got a good match & AN ASS KICKING!!! our team is looking stronger every week,also note that we didn't have a strongest team out,so when we meet again i'm sure we'll pass expectations and who knows we might even do the double over you then we'll see what excuses you have.just a hint guys,were playing 11 upfront next game!!!!
