Another game we will all want to forget as soon as possible.

Blackpool Road, a game nobody looks forward to playing. Not because of the opposition but because the pitches are truly awful.

Waterloo Sports and Social 10/3/2008

A typical breezy day at common edge saw the mighty Excelsior take on league contenders Waterloo. The battle of Waterloo, only this time out we were concentrating on being Wellington’s army and not Napoleon’s.

Team Statistics

For those who like to know their goals to game ratio take a look at the new link at the top.

At the moment Sean, Wozzer and Scholesy have averaged at least a goal per game started so far, we've also only scored 1 goal from defence this season

A Few Words from Scholesy

Richard Cookney, AKA Scholesy, has asked to say a few words and put down his thoughts on the team.

Scholesy joined FC Excelsior earlier this season and made an instant impact with his determination, passion and sweet left foot. Here are his thoughts on the team and how we have improved over the season.

Get Well Soon John Evans

On Friday 22nd Feb John suffered a broken leg in a 50/50 tackle down at Bispham Tech 7's - get well soon John, from all the team.

After initially thinking it would need pinning in an op, John luckily escaped with just a cast. From all accounts the challenge was a hard 50/50 with no malicious intent by either party.

John is a dependable, consistent and solid defender who has put in fantastic performances for the team all season. As well as keeping our back line solid, John is also Assistant Manager.

We are all hoping for a quick recovery - Steve D can't survive long without you!

Fairhaven 26/02/2008

Away from home, second from bottom, no game for 2 weeks, playing third in the league and John ‘Excellent’ Evans is out with a broken leg. A lot for the mighty Excelsior to do.

Just a quick note for the team from their skipper

Well in with the cup game lads. If we want anything from this season then the cup is our best hope, or is it our only hope?

We really need to go all the way; there are some top sides still in it, when I say top sides I mean they beat us when we met so you fear mongers don’t need to get excited because none of them are that good. Let’s not get above ourselves though; Sunday was one game, now we need to concentrate on over coming Layton Institute Juniors when we play them.
