Important Memo from The Gaffer
Please read this message from gaffer Steve Downing.
Just a quick memo out to the guys. Just to say that lets make this happen, I know we have a big squad but please be a team player and think about the bigger goal for the next 12 games. We really do have a great chance of winning the league and nothing else but promotion is acceptable.
We have a great set of lads i actually think we probably have the best strenght in depth squad in the league. We have made steady progress over the last 3 years and now with the progression of the team and facilities we have a fantastic chance of winning the league. I know that i sound serious but i think it would make us a lot happier winning the league and the bragging rights and in all fairness i think that we deserve it.
My job is not going to be easy over the next few months but my job is to get the team promoted and to take the team forward the day i feel i carnt take us any further will be the day that i step down as the gaffer, so please be patient with me. We have brought in some good signings in january, which i wasnt going to do but i think these players we have signed will strengthan our squad. i want competition for places, I want people who want to work hard and play for this team, so we acheive the sucess that i want. If any body has any problems with the team i pick or why they are not playing then please come and talk to me in private and i will be happy to discuss it with you.
But please whatever happens and what team i pick please do not burst out and unsettle the team. The team i pick is the team i think that can go out there and do the job, the results rest on my shoulders, same if we loose, im not saying i always get it right i dont, but remember the Team and the squad comes first. If anybody is not happy with this then i will gladly sign your transfer form. But i do not want to loose anybody!! But like scholsey who thought he was better than the team, we dont need players like that, i'm sure you will agree.
REMEMBER THE BIGGER PICTURE AND TEAM GOAL!! AND NOT YOURSELF.

I hope everybody understands and is there to support me and not critise me. I love this team and you guys you mean a lot to me as does the job, but please try to remember that i do it for enjoyment as well.

My Thoughts
The new lads look like good players but I'm thinking why fix something that aint broke? At the end of the day people join a Sunday Football Team to play football, and with 25 players turning up on a Sunday morning the sums aren't adding up, unfortunately this will only lead to people getting pissed off and leaving. Just my thoughts, not intended to offend or get on anyone backs.

I agree with what you're saying Gaffer, let you off with the poor spelling, but Carey should be proof reading your handy work.
Made up with the new signings personally, getting Carey back will also be like a good new signing. It is looking very good for the future. Getting better players is only going to make us a better side, its simple. So well done Stevie D for this side you're putting together.
As nice as it would be for you Steve, after such a lovely message, you are going to get unhappy people voicing their opinions about not making the side. That comes with your job. Win lose or draw the people who didn't get to play won't be happy. Just expect it pal and always have 100% confidence in your decisions.
Everytime a better player comes in it will get that little bit harder to stay in the side, good sides are hard to get in to and thats what we want to become.
I've got a good feeling about the finsh to the season. I just can't see anyone having enough strength to over come us.

No need for the jibe to be honest I'm definitely backing Mercer's shout. People turn up for Sunday football to have a laugh and play and I wasn't enjoying it simple as, you've got too many favourites Steve and until you get the balls to drop them then people are going to be unhappy.
I hope you do win the league I'd like nothing more and the players you've signed will improve a side that I didn't think needed improving anyway. But if you ain't careful your going to turn into Spedding from Quilligans and start paying players to sign for ya. You need to relax and chill out it's pissing sunday football for god sake and remember you've still got to play Fairhaven yet who won't be easy.

Scholes you left because you weren't good enough to hold down a position. Your a good player but you've no bottle and never performed in the tougher games, fact.
Getting good players in and making the team stronger is only benifiting the team. These new players will still have to force their way in to the side, if they don't cut it then they won't play. We simply play our best team.
Steves message has fuck all to do with you now, you don't play for us so stop trying to rock our applecart. These new players are here, everyone has to like it or lump it and everyone is free to choose which they do.
Just one last thing, if people didn't bring in new players Scholes then you'd be spending all your Sundays scratching around at home.
