It was the final day of the season and what a day it was. Read on for pictures, a breakdown of the awards and our thank-yous to everyone involved.

First and foremost a big thank you goes out to Lee Rooney for his continued support, generosity and for being one of the lads - each and every one of us really appreciates it.

Steve Downing - what can we say! You put in so much to the team and you have stuck with us through good and bad. Thank you gaffer.

For all the fantastic trophies, thank you goes to Ambro Sports on Newton Drive.

For those that don't know, Wes will be an additional sponsor next season for his hairdressers Geezers. Thank you pal for your investment in the club and we will get more details on the website about Geezers soon.

After a fantastic end to the season, FC Excelsior celebrated in style with a glittering awards ceremony and a lavish after party.

Starting in the exclusive Excelsior Club lounge the players, staff, friends and injury corner enjoyed a vat of wholesome meat pie, chips and gravy before the trophies and prizes were handed out.

The awards were presented as follows:

• Biggest Moaner Runner Up - Darren Worrall
• Biggest Moaner - Ross Parker
• Most Improved - Sean Lonsdale
• Top Goalscorer Runner Up - Craig Worrall
• Top Goalscorer - Sean Lonsdale
• Players Player Runner Up 2 - George Spittal
• Players Player Runner Up 1 - Sean Lonsdale
• Players Player - Chris Topham
• Managers Player Runner Up - Ross Parker
• Managers Player - Steve Mercer

Gaffer Steve Downing was presented with a collage of the team (organised by Fiss on everyones behalf) and Lee Rooney was handed an FC Excelsior crest and a framed team shot.

After the applause died down and the drinks started flowing, the red carpet was rolled out and the squad headed out on foot into the town centre.

Various events thus ensued, including dance offs and arcade racing competitions (Hows the Jägermeister taste Seano!) - I will let you recount these tales in the comments.
